December is upon us yet again... I have no idea where the year has gone, but who really cares with the holidays around the corner!? It is almost Christmas time; and whether your religion celebrates it or not, it is a beautiful time all around the globe because we all make an effort to slow down, spread love throughout the world and give thanks for everything we have.
Gianni and I have been married for three blissful years now... We spent our first Christmas overseas on our honeymoon (Monaco was gorgeous!), our second in the midst of My Kitchen Rules, our third at the Gold Coast and so amazingly it has taken us four attempts to have our very own Christmas tree! So I wanted to do it right!
We were both accustomed to a fake tree but I stumbled across the Christmas Tree Elves and their REAL. CHRISTMAS. TREES. (OMG!) I just had to give them a try.
Now I don't know if they actually have little elves there getting their hands dirty but gee they do a good job. Each tree is hand picked, freshly cut, shaped to perfection and wrapped to ensure consistency for the perfect looking tree. The tree gets delivered FREE in whatever size you desire (and the most beautiful natural pine smell comes free of charge) within one day of harvesting, ready to decorate. No rummaging through the store-room, dusting off the box and fiddling with the sharp plastic shards of that old pretend tree!
Gianni and I danced around to Christmas carols singing all the wrong words (I don't know how half of them go) and had so much fun decorating our real tree together. The finished product looks amazing and makes the house smell beautiful too! Ok, so maybe I was a little overdressed but the tree was stealing all my sparkle! Already we have neighbours and children smudging their face up against our windows to see the tree; next years will have to be even bigger I think!
Oh and I almost forgot the best part! Once the Christmas cheer has faded and all that is left are the holiday kilo's from Nonna's lasagne (yum) the Elves will come and collect your real tree for you! To help the environment they compost all of the trees and start them all over again for next year (just make sure you take your decorations off first!). They are also devoted to helping spread Christmas cheer to Australian families doing it tough. They support Berry Street and Family Life by donating $1 to each charity from the sale of every tree. Give them a go, you wont be disappointed!
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!
